A really good western

This is a well written book. This is the first time I have read an G P Hutchinson book and am looking forward to his next book in the trilogy. If you like westerns like I do you'll like this story. It shows how the west was from Texas to California in 1876. The main character Emmett Strong has his own set of problems to over come. The story and the characters are well thought out and truly lets you see what the west and the people in it were really like. The story keeps you interested to the very end. There is enough romance for those that like a good clean romance story. This story made you feel like you were right there in the west with the characters watching the story unfold. This is a well written book. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. i can truthfully tell you I will be reading more of his books.

I'm hooked and ready for more!

The action and plot twists kept me glued to this book. The geography and history details rang true to what I know of the time.
My dad is a huge western fan, and because those books were always around in a time when cable, internet and gaming systems were not, I read lots of great westerns as a kid. It’s hard to find contemporary writers of classic style westerns that live up to the hope of those memories. G.P. Hutchinson does, and I’m looking forward to more. I loved every page.
I found great depth in the character of Emmitt Strong, as his inner emotional and outer physical enemies both tried to destroy his will. And I was reminded of how facing either one builds strength to face the other.
I’m hooked and ready for more!

A suspenseful ride.

I received a free copy of this book and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had something different from what I have read in other westerns and I found it refreshing. The characters were interesting people and were believable. I would recommend this book all fans of westerns. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series.
