La Odisea (en griego: Ὀδύσσεια, Odýsseia) es un poema épico griego compuesto por 24 cantos, atribuido al poeta griego Homero. Se cree que fue compuesta en el siglo VIII a. C. en los asentamientos que tenía Grecia en la costa oeste del Asia Menor (actual Turquía asiática). Según otros autores, la Odisea se completa en el siglo VII a. C. a partir de poemas que sólo describían partes de la obra actual. Fue originalmente escrita en lo que se ha llamado dialecto homérico.
Narra la vuelta a casa, tras la Guerra de Troya, del héroe griego Odiseo, Ulises en latín. Además de haber estado diez años luchando en la guerra de Troya, Odiseo tarda otros diez años en regresar a la isla de Ítaca, donde poseía el título de rey, período durante el cual su hijo Telémaco y su esposa Penélope han de tolerar en su palacio a los pretendientes que buscan desposarla (pues ya creían muerto a Odiseo), al mismo tiempo que consumen los bienes de la familia.

Homero, según la tradición clásica, fue un poeta de la antigua Grecia, autor de los poemas épicos La Ilíada y la Odisea, entre otros trabajos. Su influencia ha marcado la historia de la literatura universal y es especial la de Occidente. Según el historiador antiguo Heródoto, Homero vivió alrededor de los años 850 antes de Cristo, aunque otras fuentes sitúan su existencia mucho más cerca de los tiempos de la guerra contra Troya, entre los años 1194 y 1184 antes de Cristo. Según la tradición, Homero era ciego y cantaba sus obras de memoria. Algunos historiadores concluyen que los conocidos hoy como obras de Homero, no son más que poemas desarrollados gradualmente a través de largos períodos de tiempo de literatura oral.

I enjoyed very much reading the Spanish version of The Oddissey. A few misspelled words here and there, but overall, a great experience.

It has made me very pleasant read, wonderfull. I have vision problems, now with this modality tool kindle in my ipad or my laptop, it has become great read. In addition to the dictionary, it becomes very enjoyable read.
